Two main data types flow to our backend:
Raw sensor data (thermal frames)
Low-resolution thermal pixel grids.
Each raw frame is extremely small, about 80 bytes.
Frames are compressed on the Hive by approximately 50–90% before being sent to the cloud.
This data is inherently non-identifying and non-sensitive.
Spatial / configuration data
Information that you enter in Butlr Studio or the dashboard, such as:
- Room names
- Zone labels
- Furniture or layout objects
The system cannot “scan” or auto-detect this information; it is user-configured only.
Security practices:
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
We follow industry-standard practices for access control and logging.
We apply security controls to both time-series and static data.
Butlr is SOC-2 certified, and data security and privacy are treated as top priorities across the platform.
