Can the sensors identify individuals or detect elevated body temperature?

Our sensors can measure temperature at the surface level, but they are not intended or suitable for health screening or identification:

  • At close range, the sensor can measure surface temperatures, including parts of a human body.

  • In actual deployments, Heatic sensors are installed overhead, aimed at the floor/space—not at specific body parts like the forehead.

  • Because of this angle, distance, motion, and environmental factors, the temperature signal fluctuates and does not consistently reflect a person’s core temperature.

So while the sensor detects relative temperature for occupancy and activity understanding, it cannot reliably detect fever or identify individuals based on temperature.
