What are the network requirements and bandwidth usage?

Network requirements depend on the deployment model:

• For wireless sensors, we recommend a commercial-grade, managed network with proper SSID, security, and coverage.

• Hives require a stable, persistent connection via:

  • Wi-Fi

  • Ethernet

  • Or cellular plus AC power.

Bandwidth:

• Each thermal frame is typically around 80 bytes.

• Hives compress frames by 50–90% before sending them to the cloud.

• Even at higher frame rates and with many sensors, overall bandwidth consumption remains low, making the system suitable for large deployments.
