Before getting started, we recommend reviewing Understanding MAC Address, Network ID, Device Pairing, and Grouping to better understand what a Network ID is and how it functions in the Butlr system.
If you need to reset the Network ID of a Hive or Sensor, follow the instructions below. Ensure the devices are powered on before proceeding.
Resetting via Butlr Workbench
Note: Hives do not have a physical reset button. You must use Butlr Workbench to reset a Hive’s Network ID.
- Go to http://build.butlr.io/.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the Network ID of your Sensor or Hive.
Hard Resetting a Sensor’s Network ID
- Ensure the sensor’s batteries are properly installed.
- Make sure the sensor is switched on. The LED should begin flashing, learn more about Understanding LED Indicators.
- Check the LED color:
- If it flashes yellow, the sensor is already set to the default Network ID.
- If it flashes blue, press and hold the reset button until the LED changes to yellow. This indicates a successful reset to the default Network ID.
