Safe Disposal & Recycling Guidelines
General Safety
Do not incinerate, crush, or dismantle batteries. Exposure to high heat can cause rupture or release of hazardous gases.
Prevent short circuits: tape over terminals before storage or shipment.
Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from flammable materials and moisture.
Local Recycling
Most countries prohibit disposing of lithium batteries in household trash.
Place used batteries in the collection box provided by Butlr or your contractor for recycling through local certified waste services.
Ship to Butlr (U.S. Only)
Customers may request pre-labeled shipping boxes from Butlr to send used batteries back to us for recycling in the United States.
Customers are responsible for the shipping costs associated with returning the batteries.
Batteries must be packed securely with terminals taped before shipping.
Butlr ensures recycling is performed through certified U.S. facilities.
Compliance & Regulations
U.S.: Lithium batteries may be treated as reactive hazardous waste; disposal must comply with EPA, state, and local guidelines (UN3090 – Waste Lithium Batteries).
Europe: Disposal follows EC directives 91/157/EEC and 93/86/EEC; check local laws for specifics.
Always follow regional regulations for storage, transportation, and recycling.
