Connecting Hive to Internet Using the Built-In Screen

This guide applies to the Butlr Hive model GWDSRKWF, which features an integrated LCD screen. Follow the steps below to connect your Hive device to WiFi or Ethernet using the on-screen interface.

Before You Begin

Ensure the Hive is powered on and the antenna is securely attached before using the Hive screen. Note: The Hive’s touchscreen will automatically shut down 30 minutes after powering on. Once it turns off, it cannot be reactivated unless you perform a hard reset by unplugging and reconnecting the power.

WiFi Connection Instructions

  1. Tap anywhere on the screen to wake it.
  2. Tap "No Network Connection", then select "Use Wi-Fi". Wait a few moments for the device to scan available networks.
  3. Select your desired WiFi network from the list.
  4. Enter the network password, or leave it blank if the network is unsecured. Tap "Connect".
  5. Once connected, you’ll return to the Network Settings page. Confirm that the status reads "Connected to Internet" and that the selected WiFi network name appears on screen.

For hidden networks or troubleshooting connection issues, please contact your Butlr representative. Internal support teams may refer to the CLI setup guide for advanced WiFi configuration.

Ethernet Connection Instructions

  1. If the Hive is connected to WiFi, disconnect it first to display "No Network Connection" on the screen.

  2. Plug an Ethernet cable into the port next to the Hive’s antenna.

  3. Wait approximately 30 seconds for the network status to update.

  4. Confirm that the status reads "Network Connected" on the screen.
