There are 5 types of mounting fixtures:

  • Ceiling Mount
  • Wall Mount
  • Angle Adjustable Mount
  • Magnetic Add-on
  • Threaded Rod (compatible with beam clamp and anchor)
  • Length Adjustable Drop Rod

Magnetic Add-on can not work alone, need to be assembled with other standard mount to attach to magnetic surfaces (steel, iron, etc.)

Standard wall mounting for drywall, concrete, wood surfaces. Design with a fixed angle, designed for common traffic use cases

Adjustable Mount

Please consult Butlr support team before using adjustable mount. Make sure sensor orientation matches the arrow in Butlr Studio

Installing Mounts

Overview

  • Mount on concrete, brick, stone, drywall: Use wall screws (M4) and anchors to secure the mounts into the surface.

  • Wood: Use the screws (M4) and drill directly into the surface.

  • Ceiling tile, T-grid ceiling, metal beams or other magnetic surfaces: Attach Magnetic Ceiling/Wall/Adjustable Mount directly to the surfacesOffice Ceiling-png

  • Other surfaces (non-magnetic, cannot be drilled):

    1. Find adhesives in the Accessory Box

    2. Choose the correct adhesive for different types of mounts

    3. Stick the adhesive to the back of the mount. Take care to put the adhesive on the correct side of the mount, as shown below.

    4. Wipe the surface with a clean cloth. Ensure that it is clean and free of dust and debris.

    5. Peel off the protective layer of the tape, then stick mount to the surface, press and hold for 20-30 seconds.

    6. Attach the sensor to the mount.

Traffic Sensor Mounting

Sensor should be installed above the center of your entrance. If the entrance has double doors, place the sensor in the middle of the two doors.

Sensor installation more than 9 feet (2.8 meters) above the ground is no recommended. Refer to table below to determine the height.

Door-png

Sensor Height (h) Effective Coverage Width (w)
2.8 m (110.2 in)   2.2 m (86 in)
2.6 m (102.4 in) 2.0 m (78 in)
2.4 m (94.5 in)  1.6 m (63 in)
2.2 m (86.6 in) 1.4 m (56 in)
2.0 m (78.7 in) 1.3 m (52 in)

Presence Sensor Mounting

We recommend to use ceiling mount for presence monitoring. For ceiling over xx ft (3.2m), use the hanging rod to low the sensor from the ceiling. Or use a wall mount installed below xx ft (3.2m) as an alternative.

Smartly use magnetic add-on to install sensors on fixtures, lightings etc.
