Traffic Mode
Traffic Mode provides aggregated counts of 'in' and 'out' movements based on the sensor's orientation, a user-defined door line, and the direction of entry. For optimal performance, the sensor should be mounted above entrances. This mode is ideal for collecting data at the building, floor, or large space level.

Presence Mode
Presence Mode detects the number and coordinates of individuals within its coverage area. For accurate results, mount the sensor in open areas or meeting rooms. This mode is suited for room, zone, or desk-level occupancy, or space-level occupancy if the area is fully covered by sensors.

How to Choose Sensor Mode for Your Application
Traffic sensors are best suited for larger spaces or areas with high baseline traffic, where the goal is to understand flow patterns and overall trends rather than precise occupancy counts.
Presence sensors, on the other hand, are typically used in smaller spaces such as conference rooms, or in open areas where more granular insights are needed—for example, detecting seat-level occupancy or counting individual people.
